I would argue that sprinkling your C++ version X code with equivalent C++ version Y code commented out is an indication that you may have too much time on your hands :) Seriously though, in my opinion, it makes the code horrible to read. Co

Nice idea, but I would imagine there are a few App store terms and conditions that would not allow a medical app dressed as a game. Then again, if it's Steam based...

I work in the industry and would agree. Also, nobody has software intelligent enough to extract the value out of the data. Maybe one day.

In my opinion, at this extreme, it becomes more like work, not fun. Might as well use the brain cells for building a "real" game.

This kind of trick reminds me of broadband internet where you buy X MB connection but actually get X/Y MB. Should be laws against this behavior.

I will never know how so many people get sucked in and used like this. Surely at least some of the "blame" for this situation lies in the individual that got used.

I'm not an expert, and in my opinion, I'm hoping the industry focuses more on the software tooling to utilize hardware accelerated compute power better. In my limited experience, the "tool chain" is overly complicated.

If such a case exists, in my opinion, it would say more about the company than SAP.

Is this situation not produced by the "nobody got fired for using IBM" mentality. Supply chain may be complex but for heavens sake, 500M euros! and not complete. I can do it for half :)

Yes but think about the people at the top of Apple who need to be seen to "innovating". Even if its misguided innovation. Change is good! Embrace!

Hi, yes but they wont do that. Normally, there is no write once memory. Most eg. oil rig control systems are not hammered down to that level. Heck - most aviation flight control systems are not like that. In fact, I was, in my early career

I agree, but median where? USA, Europe, Asia? I'm sure your figure is not the real Earth human population median. There is a huge gaping chasm between the family mentality of the western world and the rest.

My experience of redundant embedded controller systems is that whilst they may not be WindowsTM software, they are usually based on an RTOS such as vxWorks, QNX etc. I don't suppose they are any harder to "hack" than Windows.
