Fun fact: this site is so old that Moment.js was on it as a brand-new micro library. Back then we didn’t have bower nor npm. We barely had GitHub. Finding these libraries meant scouring the blogosphere

Why do you reckon the average webpage size is closer to 1MB? Could it be perhaps because people do not obsess with xKB? It’s just 140kb extra, don’t worry about it. Repeat 5 times.

I think you’re missing the point entirely. If Date has a method that does what you need, by all means use it directly. Libraries come in handy when doing things that aren’t one liners. A colleague thought it was super easy to change that ex

You’re placing way too much trust in the government, the same agency held hostage by a private company that forbid them to automatically calculate the taxes owed by its citizens. Plus why what the government do with a social network? They’d

No joke, on Facebook I'm already seeing one ad for every 2 real posts. On Instagram it's about 1:3 on the home and 1:5 on the reels (but I suppose it depends on how fast you scroll). It's already quite disgusting at this stag

Most people don't have alert duty. I don't want alert duty. I want safety and it's extremely easy to provide it.

I hope you don't wake up 7 hours after a budget alert because you're in the wrong timezone. Please stop justifying the huge risks AWS knowingly carries. It would be easy to place a hard cap, but they refuse to do so.

You say creepy, I find it to be an incredible level of trust on one side and maturity on the other side. It could have easily be "I can’t tell you where I was" and "wow you met Alissa a lot in 2005, I'm gonna break up&qu

You’re right, but also wrong. Not all collection is equal. Placing your payment data in a database that is strictly for legal purposes is different than placing in a connected database built to track users around the web. Privacy laws allow

Given the terrible product naming[1] most hardware companies[2] have, at this point I’ve just come to the conclusion that most people in command don’t have any idea of how other people behave and reason. [1]: Sony WF-1000XM3 are AirPods com

> TS is known to produce app bundles that perform slower than handwritten JS code Wrong. TS doesn’t bundle files. TS doesn’t produce code unless you target an earlier ES version than what you write, in which case there’s no way around it

IE 1.0 was included in a "Windows 95 Plus!" which was sold for $50 in 1994; However it was short-lived and it was included in later releases of Windows [1] Netscape was sold for $50 [2] Opera was sold (can't find the price) [

It depends on how new the extension is, probably. It does occasionally get stuck in review, but definitely not "every extension and update". Mozilla tried to do that and had to backtrack a few years ago.

I don’t care that they’re wrong, I care that this miscategorization helped the issue reach “the public” and rightly caused some finger pointing and users switching away from Chrome. That’s a good thing. Sensationalism works and we all wan

First thing that came to mind is that I could load this up on a static host, saving content in a local SQLite (or even in SQLite in S3), make changes and then export the results to S3 as static HTML files. All without ever running any PHP&#

How would you even go about this though? What store will accept a return “because it consumes too much power when off?” They most likely don’t even have tools available to verify the claim. Even if you ship it to Sony, when will you see you
