Facebook prints money too but that didn’t stop them from turning the clean perfect interface they had in 2010 into the steaming pile of eggs it is now.

Do you really want to spend 10 months retrieving that data? I don’t think there's a single real-life scenario where you do need data, just not this year. So $2.56/TiB is unattainable.

While you can enforce the contract later, does it save you from the algorithm and "I don't have that information"?

Outdated junk from a junk website. Stop upvoting this. The domain should probably be blocked from HN like tabloids are.

No, what happened with w3fools is that someone realized that it was not “politically correctly” so they picked out a couple of “fixed” examples and said “never mind it’s fine now.” The reality is that w3schools is low quality spam and it wi

You’re referring to “tag selectors” vs “class selectors” Engines are now good enough you don’t really have to worry about selector performance unless you’re using ridiculously complex selectors, and even then the least efficient part is act

Having such a stylesheet not automatically work in dark mode defeats the purpose. It says "no classes" but then it demands that you add an invalid attribute on your HTML to trigger it. OK, that's a no for me. Source: htt

I don’t find the HTTP headers approach useful. Headers only appear a few bytes before the HTML so if you keep the regular link tag right at the top of the file you’re good to go; no need to mess with headers. Every HTML file should start

I’m not sure you know exactly what “critical CSS” refers to because it’s unrelated to font loading and “color styles.” It has to do with inlining the CSS required for content “above the fold” while loading the rest asynchronously.

Amazon devices are sold because they’re cheap ebook readers. Huawei has only been blocked from dealing with the US, but as a result it’s been killed around the world after being one of the leading low-cost brands. Why? No Google. Take out t

I covered that in the text you quoted: > unless you’re in China. You sell in China, you don’t need Google’s approval. Outside it you most certainly do.

You’re missing a few key points here: - Google most certainly can restrict how its products are used, in fact they do. Licensing comes with rules. - Huawei is “free” to use AOSP, but can’t use Google’s APIs. See how far they got with that.

I think "breaking" is really part of Svelte’s life. I used Svelte since v1 five tears ago and basically I had to rewrite those small projects every time I touched them.

You may encounter issues with mixed packages too, actually a lot more issues given that people expect `module.exports = ` and `export default` to be equal but are not. Just save yourself some headache and publish either ESM or CJS, not both

For what? If you want to alter it, yes, otherwise package.json already has `bundledDependencies` to achieve the same without cluttering your repository.
