We used them for mining ethereum, but no longer. There is a good fairly easily discovered discord out there for enthusiasts.

I have a positive ending Kea story. We deployed 20,000 PS5 APUs (AKA: AsRock BC-250) each is a individual blade computer that was PXE booted. We started to see strange behavior on the network and it took a bit of trial and error to figure o

I stumbled across this forest on Maps [0] and ended up hiking 6 miles through it today. Some of the trees are easily over 1,000 years old. It felt like walking through a scene from a Hobbit movie, absolutely magical. The idea of it disappea

They all bin their chips after testing. 355x is 35% faster than 300x and uses almost 2x more power. But 355 has fp4/6 added in, which until udma comes out, likely won’t get emulated. It is fine if you dont need the features of newer ha

True, but as time goes on, it will become a wider and wider gap between what is deployed in DC’s and what you can run at home. We see it now with 8x UBB and it will get worse with direct liquid cooling and larger power requirements. Mi300x

It isn't 8x batches. It is 8 OAMs on a UBB. The UBB is what enables the 8x to communicate with each other over infinity fabric. If you don't need 8, then that's exactly why we offer 1xMI300x VM's.

What I said was: “it’ll likely make up for lower compensation.” The point is, someone might join AMD because they believe in the mission, not just for the paycheck. I followed that with: “It isn’t always about the money,” which is consisten

True, but if you don’t have a job, where’s the money for buying stock coming from?

Within the node (gpu to gpu), it is infinity fabric. Externally, it is 8x400G NICs, which is the limitation of PCIeV5 anyway. We had a guy training SOTA models on 9 of our MI300x boxes just fine. Networking wasn't the slow bit.

Stock is undervalued. If you get in now and it pops over the next few years, it'll likely make up for lower compensation.
