If "consciousness" is "born" somewhere else when you die, you would still need to explain how "consciousness" is bound to a physical body while you are alive. Your view implies dualism since you are suggesting

Doesn't this really depend on the definition of "consciousness". If "consciousness" is the "experience" itself rather than the "analysis of that experience", then your point does not apply (for

Mathematics does quite fine without a way to empirically verify. Many problems are insoluble solely because we have not approached the issue with the proper fundamental concepts clearly defined. Euclid's gift to the world was not so

Wow. Can't believe the cynicism expressed in the comments here. The big results do not come right away. But they tend to follow an unexpected result, especially one that involves new or state of the art methods. Bohr's atom was

It is already happening. Management responsibilities are being automated. For example, DAOs: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decentralized_autonomous_organ... A machine is not just its "management responsibilities

Automation is an example where it is shifting. A clear example of this is self-checkout at grocery stories or the use of robotics at warehouses such as Amazon.

Rationality is only a pathway to reliable information when it makes clear its assumptions (i.e. axioms or postulates) and sticks to logical proof. Empiricism is only useful when it adequately adopts Occam's Razor to stay focused on the

In my view, the goal of the current version of Web3 (previously, it was Semantic Web) is that applications can be decentralized. Is it possible that software services can be provided that are not controlled by any central authority? Bitcoi

I am most proud of still being married for 20+ years with 2 kids all the while being a full-time software manager and/or engineer. On the technology front, I am very proud of many of the technologies that I worked on as a team member:

A centralized exchange provides too much control over how fiat currency becomes cryptocurrency: a single agent has control, can set policies, and the main criticisms of Professor Holloway apply. The problems with Mt. Gox illustrate the pro

I think that Professor Galloway makes a strong case about current trends. If decentralized exchanges become an established alternative to centralized exchanges or if decentralized autonomous organizations (dao) take off, then his arguments

Each id is distinct so there is no way to list them other than to actually list each id. Typically, this will be 200 ids that are alphanumeric and where a range would include the wrong ones. Based on the discussion here (thanks to everyone

Yes, that seems to be the alternative. That is what we probably will do if there looks like a reasonable chance that devops will move to a 3rd party tool that does not support GET with a request body.
