From experience, Free's ADSL+4G aggregation is stupid. The router needs ADSL to be up all the time and aggregation is unpredictable and opaque. Being the carrier for both ADSL and 4G would've enabled them to do multi-path magic an

I'd bet a lot that non-video-streaming web browsing is a tiny bit of "tech carbon consumption". What's consuming most is probably big DCs doing various backend compute stuff and high-speed/high-bandwidth streaming (

Stuff like gocryptfs seem to push FUSE to quite high performance. There is still some latency but streaming read/write seem to go fast.

:) i don't know about that theorem, don't remember having seen. Now i'm reading stuff about Brouwer! Since it seems to be about topology so i'd guess homotopy type theory folks would have written something about it. edit

Bad unions are bad and the sky is blue. It should be pretty self-explanatory that nobody is gonna defend unions which "screw over the workplace", it's a straw-man. But some people still defend unions.. so, a more honest quest

This kind of typing is quite cool, but i didn't found it so well explained. The general pattern is to type programs not only with a type, but also with some "quantity", that quantity putting constraints on what is inside. Usi

ISP rarely do anything else than DNS censoring (censoring by ip blackholing is for really grave stuff). Also i don't understand why you'd be "better off" using encrypted connection to a 3rd party DNS which can still lie

Obviously another solution on linux is to install a local recursive DNS resolver and be done with it... I'm quite happy with knot-resolver (kresd).
