Choo-choo or no choo-choo, bankruptcy is coming. Just look at the amount of unfunded pension liabilities. Then look at the Governor and Legislature, can anyone even imagine that crew solving any real problems?

China wants tech and equipment from the China-based companies to be the standard across the world because it would allow more influence over those countries. They would also be able to intercept the equipment as it leaves the US.

There isn't zero risk the shareholders of PG&E lost 80% of the value of the stock since 2017. Since I analysis systems for a living and for fun, it would be interesting to look at PG&E books. How much maintenance was deferred?

I would guess close to all of them. A large percentage of people that work for the Federal Government really don't add much value and not employable outside of that setting. Of course, I could be wrong, but I am willing to bet on it,

You should have your eyes wide open about the ROI from any job. IMO working long hours for a big payoff can be worth it, a lot of fortunes and great things have been done with this method.
