Sometimes people just don’t care. I moved on, please don’t bother me about it and let the website live or die. That’s about the answer I got the last time one of my favorite websites was due to be deleted.

Thank god. Most if not all “smooth scrolling” suck on devices that already offer smooth scrolling natively. I tried contributing solution back but they just didn’t care.

See you in 2035 Unfortunately we have to suffer for a long time before regulation follows, if ever. Then regulation follows and we get cookie banners sometimes.

That seems weird to me. Does strict mode affect parsing? I thought that parsing completed before execution, so why couldn’t the parser generate the same AST for these two functions? (a) => a === undefined ? 1 : a (a = 1) => a

Ah yes, I’d love to start the day reading a fresh “Numbers 31:17” verse. For pair programming I’d just stick to “Leviticus 18:22”

To be honest, describing a branch the wrong way is only going to confuse people more. The “dots on the line” visualization is pretty clear: you can have any number of branches pointing to a specific dot/commit. How do you add “branches

What? If you’re looking for “the most natural” then you’ll find it in the name. You can’t “explain” branch by using a synonym. Plus that definition describes both tags and branches, how do you tell them apart? It’s clearly lacking. Actually

That’s not right. A branch is a single pointer to a single commit. Just open your .git folder. It’s then Git itself that follows that commit’s pointer to its parent(s). The branch, like the tag, is a single reference to a commit. Do this:

Grab (the South East Asian Uber) lets you place the pin. I did just that when I grew tired of delivery drivers entering the wrong gate because the address’ pin was closer to the other side of my corner.

Maybe my comment is out of date, but the patterns around Prime caused the FTC to sue Amazon just last summer: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/amazon-uses-six-dark-pattern-... https://www.ftc.gov/system&#

The Prime unsubscribe flow is a master class of darkness. Try it. It takes several clicks, multiple word-heavy pages, hard choices, flat-out lies, and in the end maybe you just accepted to be reminded 60 seconds before the renewal date.

It’s always “funny” to me when I see private companies and establishments trying to “fine” their customers. I refuse to pay, what are you going to do? Would this ever hold in court?

Yes totally, I do mention things I don’t like in reviews, but “great stay, but no coffee maker (****)” seems excessive.

QA vouchers are a scam. First of all they don’t give them to you immediately, so if you just want to cancel a flight and book another, tough luck. Wait or lose it. Second they promise an additional percentage if you get the voucher instead

That’s just wrong. Plenty of useful information in reviews, even when most of them are gamed. Bad reviews are always useful so you should leave them, especially if they exist to counter the good fake ones.

I don’t trust the positive ones but their content is useful. Sometimes I want to know the entrance price or if anyone complained about something. Most people don’t know reviews are largely gamed, so that’s why people believe them.

I wish I knew anything about printing, but why can’t my computer just send a PDF to the printer and have it deal with the details itself? I don’t quite understand the need for the computer to have to get into the nitty gritty other than jus

eSIM is a failed technology. Instead of making it easier to move, they just gave the operators more control. In some cases, transfers are simply not possible (like with most eSIMs on Airalo)

That’s excessively optimistic. The most likely scenario is that we’ll have captchas for the next 30 years but only humans will be bothered by them.
