In COP (Colombian Pesos) those are roughly $5,000,000COP and $25,000,000COP, so it makes more sense when in its original currencies.

I've never been asked about formal education in an interview beyond entry-level. Once you have a couple years of experience, formal education generally isn't as important in this field.

There's a bill that's been held up for some time, called the Hot Car Act. It would mandate safety features like you mentioned. Some cars already have these features, Hyundai for example has a quite robust one. https://w

Before the redesign, in my circles of non-tech friends, Reddit on desktop would scare them off. They thought it looked really old and ugly. The new design is really to capture those people. That said, I hate new Reddit with a passion and st

Kinda. If it's strictly for personal use and not shared, there's no obligation. If the user is distributing the script in any way, they would be obligated to "share" the changes to the world by having it be free software

1. MIT can easily be re-licensed as GPL. You can keep a branch of it right before the introduction of CGAL, so if someone really wanted to, they could replace it with something else themselves. 2. This is where it gets tricky. Yes, though y

It looks like that Samsung have now just removed your code entirely. Now though you may have lost the leverage you had before, as you still had control over their code, as they originally kept your license intact...

I suppose a better definition would be that sin taxes are meant to cut down on personal use , while pigovian are meant to offset external factors which the use of the product/service causes. Of course, each of these taxes are going

Ah yep, I had a typo there. Sin taxes are meant to cut down use indeed, unlike the pigovian ones.

I'd argue it's a bit of both -- it's a sin tax, and a pigovian tax. Sin taxes _are_ meant to cut down on use, while pigovian taxes aren't meant to cut down on use, rather, make up for external damage (such as to the envi

Not defending Samsung, but it doesn't seem like they're redistributing your code under the Apache license, rather the rest of the project under that license. In the COPYING file they have your license in there, under the files tha

The GPL requires that all code with the software under the license to also comply with the GPL, which includes libraries. Therefore, it's simply not possible (legally) to use non-GPL compatible libraries with GPL software. A lot of ope

For the offline-available reservation feature of Google Trips, TripIt.com is a pretty good replacement. Some parts of TripIt are super outdated (I think Google Trips was originally a clone of some parts of TripIt), but it gets the job done

Quartz watches "tick" only once per second. Mechanical watches move generally 6ish times a second, causing a perpetual movement. This makes them better for measuring things in fractions of seconds than a quartz movement.
