I also found the UK vids amusing (am not a Pole) -- kind of how to make fun of a stereotype in a positive way.

by lajosbacs 4y ago
It's a stereotype across the whole Europe, even Poland takes advantage of it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_plumber#/media/File:Pol...

There is a good app to help with this, "is it snappy".

Are you by any chance from the former eastern block? When you complained that a policeman beat you at a demo, the authority replied "Hmmm and they beat the black people in the US of A". Same here -- all countries have problems, bu

No one cares about their politics one way or the other, they simply have much higher fees than their competitors.

That is the default view of many in SA, including the current pope. This is driven by the hate towards the US rather than anything else -- they dream of a 'multipolar' world and idealise Russia. Same with e.g. Chomsky. However, Bo

Airpods have a low battery announcement that will pop your eardrums and it cannot be turned off.

by lajosbacs 4y ago
I hope that they have finally eliminated the deafening loudness of the low battery announcement. I check the airpods pro battery compulsively just to avoid hearing this. (love them otherwise)

That is true, it was the suggested way by the Tesla hotline after the method that you mention failed. The solution that worked ultimately was the flatbed truck...

by lajosbacs 4y ago
Tesla does the same. Mine stopped working on the highway (it let me get off it though) and on the gas station, this was its v suggested way to reset. But as this was in the dead of night in the freezing winter, I had a lot of doubts before

My partner and I always argue about the map orientation. I prefer to have north on top while driving, to know more or less 'where I am in the world'. For her it is impossible to use like this, map needs to be oriented in the drivi

I disagree -- it is perfect. On a channel with 100k+ subscribers, the segments to be skipped appear almost instantly after the video is posted. A bonus is that it skips repetitive content, not necessarily just ads.

Your comment made me realise that I actually never switch with the pods button (rather on the display of my phone) because of the loud noise. I don't get why they have not fixed this after years of complains from users.

Agree completely. My ears actually hurt when this happens, cannot be healthy. The 'device connected' sound is pretty loud as well.

No no, the spot price matches, the instance boots, you can ssh to it and do everything except using the GPU. E.g. you try to run your pytorch NN training, but it freezes for 5-10 minutes, then it runs fine. If you start your training again,
