I participated in a top incubator and totally agree with this comment. cofounder breakups are such a nasty affair and I've part of one. we tried to resolve the issue but by the time it got to that point, it was a bit too late. I someti

yeah definitely! it's like academia... the ideas being tested are often very obvious but when empirically tested and validated that's when you start developing the capacity for deeper thought/theorems and business frameworks. cool stuff aus

Nice article. Def just do it and see how people react. Another way to help with assessing price is to build a simple model. For a recent project, I built an excel model which is essentially a few assumptions (read: probabilities and gues

Wow. Feeling like this will be a predictable cycle.. I remember how difficult it was for me to convince my friends to install an app on Facebook due to the FarmVille Fatigue. Led to me and others writing "we will never post on your wall w

Totally agree. Some people are just not normal Joe users. It totally makes sense to give a bit of a pop to those in your VIP list. Also gives something for these extra Joes to inspire to. This dynamic totally exists in the real world so

This isn't surprising. I've done work in the federal government. Recently we built some products that did more, looked better and cost far less ($200k) than the other big name consultants. Our risk for further funding is that it didn't c

I agree with this point and I too adore kickstarter. Generally, the startup advice I've been receiving is to show vision by creating a really solid pitch rather than actually building (or only build for pitch purposes). I understand why t

this is cute and makes sense! this reminds me of the iPad apps that ask for a 5 star review after they give some stats. For example: "i've noticed that you've been playing this game for X hours. why not give us a high rating so we can co

Congrats! It's great that you didn't just sit around on your off time and instead got up and started coding. It's definitely the way to do it.

I've worked on a few projects over the years and finally had one that I was proud to call a startup. We got into a top incubator program and busted our butts for a really long time. We had a set of willing investors, a rock solid MVP evol

try starting by learning to think logically! like everything in life, i think people want to rush to the "fun stuff" right away and can get super overwhelmed. Get the logic part down and you'll see emerging patterns over and over again.

I love this comment. Totally agree. Some people may view learning to code as a chore and a do it once and check it off sort of thing. It's such a misconception. Just like being a good financial analyst (disclosure: I was one) where you
