If you're not trusting your phone, is there a different kind of computing device that you trust?

I have a complete opposite feelings: mobile apps are actually sandboxed, modern phones have secure elements in hardware and the attack surface itself is pretty limited. On the other hand, there's virtually no sandboxing on your laptop.

You do realize that implementing promises is a prerequisite for async/await, right?

I believe this is done by not accepting any certificate issued past date X. This way the old certificates keep working, while the new ones don't.

For those who came here looking for the actual brew commands: brew install curl --with-nghttp2 --with-openssl brew link curl --force You can also use --with-libressl instead of --with-openssl if you prefer LibreSSL.

You might want to reconsider your Node.js callback API. The standard way of returning errors is via the first argument : callback(err, data) while you suggest doing it like this: callback(data, err) Apart from being an eye

I thought that's basically what libuv does: it uses AIO on platforms that support it, falling back to thread pool on platforms that don't. Edit: apparently I was wrong.

Not the whole server - most of the networking IO will work just fine, only the operations that use libuv thread pool will be queued.

It's worth noting that DB drivers that actually integrate with libuv are a minority - most DB divers use Node-level network APIs and are unaffected by such thread pool limits.

It says "The delivery estimate for new reservations is early 2016". That probably doesn't mean they start shipping first reservations later.

Absence of background apps was a dealbreaker on earlier iOS versions, but I think all the necessary APIs are in place now. At this point I'm simply not motivated enough to do it. Especially considering Apple's attitude towards dev

Don't put your life in danger because you switched your field of vision AFAIK one of the features of HUDs is that it's projected at infinity, i.e. you don't have to refocus your eyes to see it clearly.

Purely technical fix: an app shouldn't be able to tell if the device is rooted unless user grants it root permissions.

Right, don't encrypt all the things, because that makes us find crypto vulnerabilities sooner. Also, side channel attacks are hard, so let's just use plaintext.

The problem is that you can spoof Google location tracking and other systems that actively report your location, but you can't (AFAIK) spoof your cellular tower data.
