You are correct that rga doesn't ship with an Excel adapter out of the box. I have an open PR [1] to allow users to process XLS and XLSX files like any other Zip archive. [1]: https://github.com/phiresky/ripgrep-al

As a counterpoint, consider Emacs's rx ( https://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/manual/html_node/elisp/Rx... ) as a direct alternative to writing regular expressions.

If anyone is interested gron [0], I have an open PR [1] to add it as an adapter to ripgrep-all. The patch was based on the most recent release, since master is currently not functional. 0: https://github.com/TomNomNom/
