For me, the way I thought about it was a bit different. When I did YC I had already worked at Google for a while, and the question I was asking myself was less "do I want to be a founder?" and more "is starting a company some

That’s true. In general, if you customize the prompt for a specific type of question, GPT-3 will be better able to handle that type of question. Prompt size is limited, though, so if you are attempting to create a general-purpose chatbot ou

Rather than “buckets”, I bet they just have a flag on each tweet in the database for whether it’s deleted. So if you delete the most recent 3600, next time they do a query to see recent tweets, it retrieves 3600, but they’re all deleted, so

This deal was signed in May 2019, before the questions about Chinese control over TikTok had really come to the forefront. There's a decent chance that it's simply about Google giving TikTok a better deal, or other infrastructural

You have to read to paragraph #17 before you get the information the story is really about. Uber delivered shares to its employees on the day of its IPO in May 2019, meaning employees would be taxed at the price of $45 a share. But the emp

I personally don’t but there’s a DIY robocars event near me where people compete in races using little self driving cars. Some people were using the AWS one but more popular in the “stock” division was the Donkeycar - https://diy

It's one of those things that looks blindly obvious in hindsight and makes you wonder how it took so long for someone to think of it. Multiplayer Bomberman had this back in the 90's! I loved that game in high school. But yeah, c

There are no edits here. After the first couple lines which are prompt, I typed the “human” lines and GPT-3 generated the “AI” ones. But I also wouldn’t say that it’s very close to passing the phone screen. It isn’t actually getting a corre

The tough thing is that a common failure mode of many of the modern AI solutions is some output that looks superficially correct, but doesn't actually map correctly to the real world. When you want a table of data, it seems like the da

At $50 for a 1TB hard drive, that 100MB is costing you half a cent. It doesn’t get sent to users over the network so it doesn’t affect performance. Why does that matter again?
