   Just as mirimir said, it is biological norm to draw line between your own kind and everyone else. For example, both dogs and cats don't kill each other, but dog can easily kill a cat.

   Looks like you may want to try Vagga [1]. It is Linux-only, but you said that you want Linux-based environments. It is for development environments by design, so it is way easier to setup than Vagrant. Even if it does not solve your problem
