Do child rapists deserve to be lined up against a wall? If I think it's a good idea, am I a violent jackboot that actively harms society? Am I worse than the rapists? BTW, I wouldn't line up "terrorists", as they may hav

Assuming the fridge is made of metal, isn't is safer than a cabinet? Efficiency may be noticably worse, especially if poorly insulated, but I don't understand the safety aspect.

Unlike sugar¹, salt is also necessary in small quantities. It is also quite useful/needed even in moderate quantities (say 1/10 - 1/2 teaspoon) in cases where it got flushed out. For example, you eat too much sugar/sacch

Interesting concept. On the unconstructibility of efficiently running version, they scaled the 6" model to 3m while holding constant rpm to keep efficiency, and claim it's unconstructible because of tip speed. Shouldn't tip s

People will call them awful and disrespectful, for not providing explicit instructions to use a new or work account, and warning everything in the account may be impounded.

Power plant waste: 60T/y for 1200 MWe = 50g / kWe·y = 1.6 mg/MJ Coal energy density: 24 MJ/kg = 0.024 MJ/g -> 42 g/MJ Not perfect, but depending on what the waste is, doesn't seem too bad.

Did you just switch from solar / wind, which is totally workable and cheapest form of energy, to arguing about batteries? Batteries for storage are problematic, especially grid scale lithium - globally unfeasible regardless of nuclear.

> monstrous transmission losses When people claim monstrous transmission losses, I'm not sure what to think of. Is it 80%? Maybe 50%? Is 30% too much of a hit for reliable clean power? Surely you're not hung up about 15% for a

If someone made an open iPhone or ThinkPad clone, I'd cheer and be in awe. The value is not in making unique innovative hardware, but making it open and accessible. It can then be the basis of further development. Overall, nice to know
