I think you hit the crux of the issue . While coding jobs will still be around they will probably employ top 1% of the people in the intelligence spectrum whereas before it would have employed say 30% of this group of people (made up number

And that’s the problem.Lot of people are not in the top 10% of intelligence spectrum but they do need to make at least 130-150k per yer to survive in USA and the only skill they have is related to computers.

Actually in real world AIs are doing great and continuosly accelerating and augmenting human efforts to solve open ended problems. Academic institutions should help students embrace AI tools and not just penalize them for using it.
