Max should add code in Homebrew to check if hostname contains "corp.google.com", and exit with a message that Homebrew can't run inside Google. Petty, but fuck em. They don't want him, they shouldn't get the fruit o

If a potential employee was concerned about name recognition with my startup, and I REALLY wanted her join, I'd double down on my pitch of how we're all passionate about making a huge (name-brand-worthy) contribution to the world,

I resent the fact that so many people here are calling this BURNOUT. Can you not fathom the idea that Eevee simply saw and accepted the truth: that the job at Yelp was not personally meaningful?

Much of Stripe's success is due to the usability of their product, so it's not a surprise to see that level of quality in their landing pages. Wow, Paypal, this is your UI: http://shots.jotform.com/elton/jotfo

TED talk with clickbait title, now HN clickbait. It's a "single reason": can someone post that single reason here to save us the time of sitting through a TED talk?

There's selection bias at play here, but anyone else notice that 99% of these are consumer plays? There's mostly photos/food/social/video/community/jobs ideas. In consumer plays, there's a lot of lu

Ok, so client requests "DELETE www.company.com/api/thing/1234" and gets a 404. Or even "GET www.company.com/api/thing/1234". Delete vs get doesn't matter. Did 1234 not exist, or is &q

Client sends a request to delete item #12345 from DB. The item does not exist in DB. Is that a 404, because the resource isn't found, or just generic 400? 404 should be reserved for URL/route errors. We need a few new error cod
