I am not a googler but what you say is more in line with my thinking. You don't ask for, but simply take the 20% time. Ask forgiveness, not permission. Until they send out a memo saying you're only allowed to work or think about t

The chrome "toolbars" are a joke. Especially this one. It makes all pages have a margin on the top (that flickers in) and then the toolbar appears several seconds later (after the webpage loads)

Seems ironic to have a "lifetime" pro option, as its predecessor's lifetime was cut short.

The tabs feature is a godsend. It's definitely affecting my email behavior and making me a happier person. Instead of deleting individual marketing emails or sometimes trying to unsubscribe, I can now just ignore them completely!

I was trying to install VLC on my android nexus 4 the other day and apparently it's not in the Play store? I ended up installing "Joe VLC" instead. I wonder if there will be an official android release?

I was inspired by a blog post I saw here and ended up creating a chrome web store app and an android app for creating site-specific passwords based on a master password. https://github.com/kzahel/passwordmaker https:&

Weird, looking at the manifest, I see it asks for permission for "socket": [ "tcp-connect: : " ], but when I try to use that in my own app, I get the message "socket" permissions are only allowed for packaged apps. I am quite frustrated by

I am extremely excited about this simply because of the display. Finally there is a laptop with a display that competes with Retina macbooks. If you don't like chrome OS then you can install ubuntu or whatever. The lack of local storage spa

I also like the content security policies of packaged apps. A web page can load new code at will and frequently does so. Packaged apps typically come bundled with everything they need to run, and can't directly load scripts from the web. Al

I used to use this guy's program for palm pilot when memorizing some foreign language vocabulary. It was a pretty nice program and he put a lot of thought into the repetition and spacing algorithm. The author seems to think that memorizatio

Most of the time I'm processing data that is on a queue, and I have some kind of event loop. Promises are great for simple things, I guess. But they just seem like extra, unnecessary syntax. I tried a while ago looking at the different libr

This is interesting. If you made a good API for resumable uploading and had nice oauth and signup procedures as well as apps for mobile ala google drive for accessing the files, I could see some people using this as a file storage backend.

I agree with this assessment. Also, I am a man, and I think it's a bad idea, too. The whole point of online dating was to be able to judge beforehand how awkward the situation would be. It's very hard to duck out in the first few minutes ("
