My only issue with this email is that he used the subject "we" when mentioning grabbing a coffee. The current accepted standard of phrasing in business circles eliminates the subject and would read "would love to grab a coffee". Would love

I agree. Although the symmetry of the design is inline with the tennets of Minimalism, it unfortunately makes for a piece that lacks movement and vitality. You definitely won't be seeing me walking through the West Village with that monstro

Will there be a higher-grade customizable offering for us high-karma old timers who haven't seen a top bar in that color for years? I'd hate to associate myself with all these Orange Bars. Buying, nonetheless. Not to wear in public, of cour

This looks great and I'd consider using it in the near future. However, with a service like this that drastically simplifies a legal process, I can't help but feel a bit wary. Are there any disadvantages to using Clerky over filing these

So, both sides have pretty much spoken, and what irks me the most is that the LayerVault guys haven't provided any concrete evidence to support their claims; they've posted vague responses and joked about DMCA'ing their friends on Twitter.

This comment really rubs me the wrong way, probably because I was raised by two foreign parents who had a similar plan for me. From the day I was born, their wish was for me to carry on the torch of physician-ship to the point where I was t

PG wasn't aware that PetSmart closes an hour earlier on Sundays, so he was forced to wait till opening this morning to get the additional hamsters needed to keep this place running.

This is a really dismissive comment that could be used to trivialize just about any article and debate here on HN. While it isn't a big issue, this topic is something designer's do think about and a discussion about its effects on user expe

I think pronouns should be reserved more for interactions, where a UI's personality really shines through. So when refreshing your inbox, you may see "Fetching your email", for example.

I mostly agree. I also think that physical vs. digital is a big determinant of whether Yours or Mine is appropriate. When using a physical object, you are at the very least spatially aware of all of the components. Your pencil, car, hammer

I think this is a sign of Microsoft's desperation to stay relevant. Most of the Surface reviews have spoken poorly about the device. Windows RT hasn't been well received. They've tried to revamp their entire image -- with new hardware, soft

What matters most to me is video chatting that doesn't suck. If WebRTC is that and only that, I would be more than willing to use another chat app as a buddy list and for chat history.

Yes, please, please, please kill Skype. Kill it mercilessly. Using it has been the worst experience I've ever had with an application. I've been in a long distance relationship for a few years now and Skype has sadly been our main mode of

This post is pretty childish. Competition and copycats have existed for centuries and will continue to exist long after you're gone. You think calling them out is going to cause them to have a sudden change of heart after they presumably ri

Stop being so dramatic. No one in this comment thread has expressed an opinion anywhere near one of being opposed to allowing kids to yell out of joy or fright. Let me ask you: would you mind sitting next to a group of kids at the movie the

I feel the same way about parents who want their kids to stop smearing spaghetti sauce on the walls. It totally ruins the creative process. Might as well kill your kid at that point.
