How do you do video chat on the SGII though? I'm guessing you need some software like Skype, etc., which means your friend also has to have installed, you need to be friends with them, and so on. On the iPhone, FaceTime is built right into

Also, I've never really understood why a removable battery is necessary. By the time my battery died in a phone, it's always been time to upgrade anyway, so I never replaced it. Also, if you need extra power during the day, an extra battery

Probably a combination of both, but I doubt it really matters either way—at the end of the day, they had a poor experience with an Android phone, and they don't want to have that happen again.

Also, a lot of people on Verizon who wanted a smartphone probably had already bought an Android phone when the Verizon iPhone came out (I know I did). The original Droid is just about two years old, which means that a lot of Droid owners ar

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's only true if you're on the free level (i.e. only running 1 dyno). Otherwise, your process is always active.

Yes, but there's absolutely no reason why a consumer needs to know about that, so why would they advertise it? That sort of things goes in developer API docs.

This is more than just a skin, like the handset manufacturers do. It's not supposed to be an Android device, it's an Amazon device.

While Rdio is definitely better for discovery, I prefer Spotify because of its integration with iTunes. With Rdio, I had to keep opening iTunes if I wanted to play a song that Rdio didn't have. With Spotify, it lists all of my local songs i

I had a Droid on Verizon for about a year and a half, and I definitely wouldn't call it "direly slow". I'm now on AT&T with an iPhone, and it feels to be about the same speed as Verizon was.

Regardless of whether WP7 is any good (and it seems like it is), it's pretty clear Microsoft has no idea how to sell phones. One has to wonder if they'd named it something other than "Windows Phone" (which makes people think of the terrible

I would be surprised if Amazon ditches their existing Kindle. I'm sure this will just be an addition to the product lineup, rather than a replacement.

Yes, absolutely. There is almost no reason to touch wifi and bluetooth settings on iOS devices. I have wifi enabled all the time, and battery life is still excellent. Android devices on the other hand, need constant fiddling. My Droid would

I have to say, I always liked how strict German is about how to say things, at least when learning it as a second language. It made it a whole lot easier to learn, rather than a language where there are 10 different ways to say the same thi

Lion actually adds some APIs so developers can make their apps work like iOS apps. If the developer allows, the OS can kill their app at any time when it's in the background. More info here: http://arstechnica.com/apple/reviews/2011/07/mac

ITA's app doesn't seem nearly as useful to me for a few reasons: 1) The form at the beginning is much more confusing. Creating a search with Hipmunk is much less complicated. 2) Flights are ordered by price, whereas Hipmunk orders them by "

I'm a little unclear on this--does Card.io handle the payment processing too, or just the card capture itself? If they don't handle the payment processing, how does the card number get passed along?
