As a developer, you can include whatever map tiles you want in your application - if Apple Maps are bad for you, you can just switch to Google or Bing or whatever. Don't blame or abandon the platform for what is within your capability to ch

Last friday a co-worker managed to snag one of the new iPhone 5s from an AT&T store and wanted to transfer everything from his old iPhone 3GS to it. He had not been syncing his 3GS to any computer, so I thought it would be a simple matt

In an ideal world, perhaps Apple would offer two iPhone sizes — like they do with products such as MacBook Pros, MacBook Airs, and iMacs. A smaller one with the classic 3.5-inch display, and a larger (say, 4.5-inch?) one for

There really should be a Game Store separate from the App Store. Currently, if you're not looking for a game, pages like "Top Grossing Apps" are completely useless in the App Store.

The answer, for me, is simple: there are a good number of people I follow on Twitter that are endorsing app.net, which indicates that they likely intend to use it of it gets funded. The same can't be said for any other Twitter-like service

I will say this: I consider myself to be a Tweetbot user, not necessarily a Twitter user. If Twitter cuts Tweetbot off, and Tweetbot integrates with some other Twitter-like service, I will go there. Of course, this is exactly the scenario T

I've been using the Chocolat betas for a while and it really is a nice editor. Worth $50, I don't know - for around that price you can get Sublime Text 2, BBEdit, or TextMate, all of which are more mature products. I think Chocolat could be

The Nexus One has only been out for 2.5 years (since Jan 2010) and it was announced back in October that it wouldn't be getting ICS because it was "too old", which at that time was still less than 2 years since its launch. http://techcrunc
