Agreed, what I have done is just not answer my phone unless they are in my contact list. I also do not share my cellphone number with anyone. Seems like everyone wants it these days and the pandemic made it worse, so I have a Google Voice

It's anecdotal, but I have memories from when I was an infant. The only reason I know is because my parents relocated a lot when I was young. I have spacial recall of the layout of their apartments. I have specific vivid memories in

Tough to really answer as each has it's advantages and disadvantages. I value data ownership so I will always lean towards self-hosting, but that isn't always practical as we are talking about a community, not one person or even

I used to live in a major Texas city that refused to implement a bus service. After several years of criticism, they decided to finally trial a bus service. They setup bus stops around the city to gather data and determine if this would b

As a software developer I have been working from home for 20 years, I have no intention of ever changing this setup. I do better, more quality work when I can control my environment and minimize disruption. I have taken less pay in order t

Not many places I have worked for allowed for this to be automatic. A lot of it was so they could provide a coherent explanation as to what the current state of internal attention was directed at vs what everyone can plainly see.

I wrote a script that basically hits an offsite DNS with my latest IP. It's worked quite well. I think in the past 4 years I have had Comcast, they haven't changed my IP once.

I've been doing my own hosting for 20 years, this just doesn't happen often enough to concern myself with it. You need to disassociate yourself from the start-up mindset when you DIY a side project app or site. Having said that,
