Well GSuite/Drive is a MAJOR Google product. And they have great export via Google Takeout which I do regularly to some giant tarballs (and ironically put on my otherwise empty dropbox)

I'm all in on GDrive - my whole world is in there. 25 years of files. I do notice Spam occasionally in the 'shared with me' menu - but it seems to get cleaned up. I already have all 99% notifications turned off in apps. Sound

It is not clear what country this page is addressing... I can guess the UK but you should be explicit or use a country domain name.

I factory reset my phone so my lost my gauth 2fa for Twitter. I'm locked out now. I cannot get Twitter to let me back in even though I can verify my email and phone SMS. I didn't make a backup code because I assumed I could use em

Absolutely. I thought we would have automated voicemail transcription to email by now. At least let the audio of voicemail go to my Gmail inbox. There is a great SMS backup+ app that Is open source on GitHub. But Google seem to keep blockin

You are absolutely correct. Many snobby people from Melbourne will protest. But it's true. Especially compared to coffee elsewhere in the world.

Unpopular opinion, there is always more complexity and culpability in these sentimental stories. Even in the broken social fabric of Western culture, there are still many opportunities to contribute to and find genuine community. However it

I think Google love this kind of media exposure and promotion of Firefox. It protects them from antitrust complaints and they are not too threatened by Mozilla Firefox.

Fascinating that they switched to a worse manual methodology. I wonder if there is a big difference between: a) an automation system that only the coder understands b) an automation system that is transparent and accessible to managers Many

I really hope this means they will add support for SmartSync on Linux. That is the one new killer feature. Paper and the rest are not interesting to me. Oh, and they need to turn on full text searching inside files for paid Dropbox Plus acc

Is music piracy really 'rampant'? My sense is that cheap legal streaming services have won the day. The original itunes model of $1+ per song is gone.$10-$20 CD's are gone. Yes cheapskates can still torrent music and maintain

Yes I wondered this also. It is naturally to use his employers platform. However I wonder if in 10-15 years this post will be lost in Facebook changes, but the .plan files from the 1990s will still be available somewhere.

A minority view: I do care about privacy but this behaviour is what I expect from Chrome. We have a number of profiles on our shared family PC and people expect logging into chrome or gmail will also log into the other. For me it's the

This kind of effort toward optimisation is so pleasing. To think that this in effect means that web browsing on phones and laptops uses much less battery, and that web apps run smoothly and promptly, is very cool.
