And yet inexplicably 2 stroke scooters / bikes are still legal, which contribute the most air and noise pollution. Still can't wrap my head around that.

From what I remember (and similar to other designs), the pits take the brunt of the flash flooding, before releasing into the chamber. The reservoir can hold the water for as long as required before dispatching it.

The ones we visited in Paris have 50cm thick solid steel doors and submarine hatch style wheels to wind them shut. I would anticipate that even just the air pressure that is expelled during a surge is probably enough to cause serious damage

There's a few things similar in Paris as well. Most dense cities with little natural run off have them. http://ninjito.com/2009-07-19

I went here in 2006. Didn't need a translator or Japanese (but booking the appointment in the site pre-google translate was fun..) We caught a train out, and walked the remaining 2km to the facility. Great to see you can get onto the f

Definitely France, and quite possibly this is a law ratified into EU law. For example, if a French company wants to hire a specific American (or any non EU citizen) person, they need to prove that the position is unfillable in France, and t

So there are "hidden" side entrances to the Louvre. With your back to the glass pyramids, cross the road, and next to the arch on the right is an underground staircase that will pop you in without queues. Likewise, pick your time

Skydiving reserves must be inspected and repacked every 6 - 12 months depending on the country. This pack must be done by a licenced rigger.

It's relatively difficult to commit suicide via skydive (at least at the start.. there have been specific cases I have heard of where experienced fliers have killed themselves) As a student, all your gear is double checked on the groun

I had a guy with 50 jumps request to do a 3-way jump this weekend. He was incredibly stressful, jittery and all over the place. In the plane, no gearcheck - but he did take a stack of selfies. About 10 seconds into the jump, his helmet flew

By far the most 'well known' AAD videos. The human mind is amazing in its ability to adapt to new environments. To a non-skydiver, the most important thing to do when you skydive is to open your parachute. However it's stup

I skydive and BASE; from my (limited) experience, the disciplines have a risk of 'built in' complacency. Take skydiving, for example. As a beginner, you're keenly aware that every time you toss yourself out of a plane, you&#x

There are two typical ways to make Turkish delight. One is the "easy western" way - sugar, rosewater, gelatin. This is obviously not halal. The second is the "hard authentic" way: sugar, rosewater, cornflower. Cooking co

This can also be scammed due to the timeout "feature" in telephone systems. Ie, the scammer calls, tells you to call the number on your card. You believe they hung up, but they are still on the line. When you pick up your phone

Just had a follow up from Ted. He says that legal received a complaint but ignored it, and perhaps the leak vector was via historical whois data. Historical whois data says otherwise. Hard to draw a firm conclusion apart from the facts.

I was one of the upvoted posters there. TLDR: I was issued couriered C&Ds to a postal and email address only used on Namecheap. The attacking party had no court order, subpoena, judgement, etc. Ted from namecheap asked me to email him.
