Sure, my boss was a major stakeholder. But he never complained about anything untill the last moment when he brought up the "data scientist" bs. So it is not like I didn't do anything that he asked me to do or that the stakeh

Tell me about it. I had just accepted a position at Company A when Company B came in with what seemed like a much better offer: full-time employment instead of a contract, higher pay, and equity. So, I left Company A and joined Company B. F

I find it super interesting from a technical point of view, but I don't see the advantage over using cal.com.

Sure, if they are used to macOS, this is a great option. But I wouldn't recommend it to people who are not used to it. I tried to recommend Linux, with XFCE setup as basically windows, and people complain. Same for ChromeOS.

Same for me. I just tried a curved 27 inches monitor and I hate it.

Those are the things that Apple does to milk you the most money. To think mid to premmium smartphones come with 256GB by default and 8~16GB of RAM.

I get that, but do you think it is so different that they can not have different modules in the same IDE? I mean, visualstudio, for example, supports all languages from the same IDE.

This is better than nothing, but I believe a Unreal type of license for their products would be much better. Like, if you do less than what 5000 euros/usd per month, you can use it for free, after that, you pay X per major version. Tha

I have a very good perception of Jetbrains as a brand, even though I have only used YouTrack for some days. What I don't understand is, why do they have so many IDEs instead of a single one? Is it really necesary? Are language writting

The problem with the Firefox (or Chrome) password managers is that they only work on their browsers. Bitwarden works on any browser, on windows, macos, linux, ios, android.

Came to say this. Even Dragonfly, which is supposed to be user friendly, is not. The only one I was able to install just like Linux is GhostBSD.

Pay a percentage over the difference between the original value (50m) and the death value 740M, to inherit, you have to pay taxes on the difference, with brackets, as first millon 0%, second million 10%, etc.

Same for me. I tried it about 20 years ago. I didn't fell like I was learning anything, just copy paste like you say. I haven't retried since, but I think it would be much better if they explain what you are doing and why.

I imagine 99% of the work is to be done on "obsolete" mainframes as you call them. I doubt there is much new development in COBOL in 2024.

The problem is not so much access to tooling, but access to mainframes. I can learn COBOL in a day or two, and I would love to work on a "boring" COBOL job, but I have no experience with mainframes.
