I built something similar, but for in-app Issue Reporting, as my macOS app needed a way for users to file bugs without having to create an issue in GitHub https://github.com/kushalpandya/Sluice

While PlayStation is on a streak of one bad decision after the other, I'd give them benefit of the doubt here. Kojima likes to work unhinged on grand ideas with a tall budget which may stick or not stick at all. So may be Sony didn

The macOS installer is not notarized, and while adding an exception in Gatekeeper exists, not everyone would be willing to do that, especially currently when even the app source is unavailable.

They certainly wield power to mobilise poor farmers, leading to anarchy. Highly recommend reading about Farm Bills that govt. had to take back even when surveys by Supreme Court showed that over 85% farmers across the country were in favor

India (central govt.) also doesn't tax farmers even when they've made bumper profits from their produce. The moment a political party even mentions of taxing rich farmers, their politics is over. Basically country is going to shit

The attitude partly affects GNOME too, any time you'd constructively criticize it on places like their Issue tracker or r/gnome, their defenders would come with pitchforks at you. Glad I moved to KDE nearly a decade ago.

Petrichor, a music player for macOS: https://petrichor.page/ This has been my work outside of work, which I spend most of my weekends on. It has gotten enough downloads (23k+) and traction to motivate me to continue.

While the browser support is not complete, styling the dropdown menu to match with Windows 98 should still be doable https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Learn_web_developme...

I spent the last year building Petrichor, an offline music player for macOS. This is an essay on how the journey has been so far. I also shared it on HN last year [1], and the project has come a long, long way since then. [1]: https:/

That's still the default state of Google Hardware. Just look at their out-of-warranty Pixel Watch repairs. And if you're not in North America (or EU), chances are very high that any repair to Pixels is going to be either not possi

The thriving ecosystem of dynamic libraries that you could just link and create a Windows Vista-esque UI (AKA Aero) in an IDE built in 1998, thanks to Win32 API.

I wish Google would launch Mac Mini-like devices running their consumer-grade TPUs for local inference. I get that they don't want it to eat into their GCP margins, but it would still get them into consumer desktops that Pixel Books co

This looks interesting and I might give it a try. I did look at FSEvents in the past but due to my needs in macOS app, I took a very niche (and not so fast) approach of running find | ls -lT | shasum spawned in a separate process to reliabl

Yes, the app got enough traction already to warrant for Homebrew and MacPorts distribution, so I'll try to incorporate both! Audiobooks support looks like a neat idea, I'll see if I can accommodate it in future, for now, I'm

Smart playlists will be coming soon as I've done all the infra work to support it, in fact current default playlists that app has (Favourites, Top 25 Most Played, Top 25 Recently Played) use smart playlists behind the scenes, just that

No plans for iOS app in near future but once this one reaches a feature stability, I'll think about it, as the decision to use Swift & Swift UI was for sharing logic with iOS app in future.

I started with only macOS 15 for starters, but I agree it might be possible to support even older versions so I'll check if this can be improved in future alpha or beta builds.
