I do have youtube premium, but I still use modded clients just because even with YouTube Premium, the experience feels very sub-standard.

Isn't that the free market you want? You can build your own client (even by forking!) if you disagree.

Considering webcams are now reaching prices of 400$ (e.g., https://www.elgato.com/en/facecam-pro ), the quality improvement of a proper mirrorless camera can't be dismissed.

Have you considered getting a ZV-E10 for this? That’s one of the smaller sony mirrorless cameras which behaves like any other webcam via USB, so it'd be just as simple to use as any other webcam.

That's why I used the a6000 as an example. Even that is significantly better than what phones we're seeing today, where even the "RAW" is entirely artificial

Look at pictures on social media in recent months, pretty much every single image looks like this. If you zoom in, they're all inaccurate impressionist paintings. They only look good at original size. It's absolutely painful and e

With even an a6000 (you can get it used for about 200 bucks) you can get high quality RAW images without any postprocessing. And they actually look good! No phone can deliver that, even today.

Yes, carriers in EU still send out SIM cards in that format, but you can break the edges off to turn it into miniSIM, microSIM or nanoSIM. e.g., https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/617HebHVIAL._AC_SY355_.j...

You can have multiple physical SIMs with any reasonable phone as well. It's only the handful of US flagship phones that removed that support (just as they removed headphone jacks or microSD slots)

They can't do that with physical SIMs, because at least in the EU, there are regulations against that (to regulate stuff like phones and SIMs locked to each other)

Are you seriously suggesting lightning should replace the headphone jack universally? We replaced SCSI with SATA. Or music cassettes with CDs. But the headphone jack is and remains a standard. My audio interfaces have XLR, 6.3 mm or 3.5 mm

Actually, 7 and 8 added some major support for Java 8, which is quite useful, as it adds better support for NIO and lambdas. But most of that can be done with polyfills and transpilers, which the android gradle plugin does automatically now

I'd recommend modding a panel from a different thinkpad, like from the newer X1 models: https://www.ebay.com/itm/354162731881 This should, with slight modifications, fit any thinkpad with a non-touch 40-pin eDP. N

Apple usually buys their panels from LG, most of the time you can get better price/performance if you buy the same panel directly or in other assemblies.
