We are a Podman shop. Podman itself works fine, but for Compose we kinda have to use docker-compose (and very soon "docker compose" due to the former getting deprecated in a week). I found several major and minor issues when I fed

I think there might be actual technical reasons to (sometimes) be human-like. Saying something like "sorry, i meant ..." hopefully signals to the model that i made a mistake, so it should not consider my previous input verbatim. W

“I’ve been asked xxx but what if what they really want is yyy” - in my experience they usually want yyy, xxx is just how they managed to write it down using existing terminology/environment.

Those kinds of systems are a real joy if designed correctly. You can usually pretty safely assume that the object does not mutate (much), and you can very easily find out what you need to do to pass that object forward into a function that

I'd build a structure/robot that I'd attach to my keyboard, and it would press the keys. I started to write how it would be possible to control for that, but it got too Orwellian/horrible and I stopped.

I think what people want is for the old system to continue (similarly to the Netflix password sharing crackdown saga) - youtube pushes ads for people who don't adblock, some pay for premium, and the others are free from ads due to thei

From a security standpoint, it's better for us all for LLMs to be easily injectable. This way you can at least assume that trusting them with unvalidated input is dumb. If they are 'human level', then they will fail only in c

This seems like where RMS would chime in. Because what we're actually missing on Android are the GNU tools - we have the kernel, but not the userland tools that define the experience.

+1 for rsync. Have used them for a couple of years. I set up a script to backup my stuff there a couple of times a day. Their daily snapshots have also saved me from my own mistakes on several occasions.

We are now on the Podman train. We used Docker for a while on some parts of our services. We did a thorough comparison of Podman and Docker when it was time to move over all the rest of our legacy-deployed services. Podman won out on many t

We are pulling from Docker Hub, we're nobody special or big, but still. This shenanigan made us look for alternatives and consider the value the service provides - which didn't end in Docker Hubs favor.

Companies will leave if they cannot trust Docker Hub to keep their CI systems working. Scaring decision makers with technical issues and instability is a pretty big nono.

The fruits of our cave years were small and unappealing. Our modern fruit is 100% bred to be bigger and tastier looking. But these are wholly alien looking things from a historic standpoint. So we bred them to look delicious to us, humans.
