That AWK REPL in JS is amazing! Just what I need for a playground to refine my understanding of its language. Thank you! I will consider buying the books and spread the word :) Thanks again!

I consider myself pretty experienced at shell-fu and capable of doing most things I set out to achieve in either bash scripts or fearless one-liners. However, my awk is rudimentary at best, I think mostly because it's such an unforgivi

My experience of ECS is the opposite of yours. It integrates nicely with the AWS ecosystem and was substantially easier to use and educate others on. Would not hesitate to use again on either fargate or BYO EC2. I will acknowledge schedulin

Y'all definitely need to check out Shottr too, it has built in annotation and OCR and doesn't cost anything unlike CleanShot (which admittedly, is great too!) https://shottr.cc/

This is a good alternative when security is the priority. Wouldn't verifying an mTLS certs validity be significantly more expensive than whitelisting IP blocks though? Especially when a server is potentially under duress? Can you cache

Hey, thanks for taking the time to respond. I also wanted to say thanks for hatch, I can see this problem space is something you care a lot about! I will definitely give it a go at the next opportunity and see how I can fit it into my workf

Strangely enough the more I think about this, I kind of want hatch, PDM and poetry to have a baby in some unholy union and give me everything: I want the automatic virtualenv management from poetry with the lockfile for dependency managemen

Meanwhile, the last few years I've consolidated on poetry and been pretty happy with it. How does hatch compare to poetry? Ultimately, I don't really care what I use! But python's woeful package management and distribution is

I see. I just dump that kind of stuff in a bash script or bash -c '...' it directly if necessary. Still, to each his own! That's the great thing about having a glut of viable options.

I don't get it. Are you executing extremely convoluted bash one liners at your shell prompt? I still write for bash and use a bash shebang to run it when I need to script. Mostly because the likelihood a colleague or whoever else comes

I used to love zsh and it's endless customisation options, it definitely felt more robust and sophisticated than bash as a shell and was my preferred daily driver. Then I discovered fish and to be honest the sane defaults and out of th
