Why would this be useful. Why is it any better than installing the OS and then installing everything else after? Does it save time? I'm very curious as to what problems this solves.

I hope you mean by live, that it's just for testing purposes. Because that's all it's suppose to be for. But i agree, this will be nice to be able to develop something on your own machine or whatever and then transfer it over to the actual

This only affects email accounts as far as i can see. It does not affect gmail accounts though. Only emails where you have to use other protocols like POP3. Although i still believe it shouldn't be plaintext, but it's not nearly as bad as i
