I feel a bit ashamed to say this, but as a polymath, wasn't Tagore's specific knowledge limited compared to Einstein's, who had been doing distributed work solely in scientific fields rather than spreading his knowledge thin

I'd say that's mostly due to outside use. If your friends don't care about encryption, you would never use it. Since I have an extremely small social circle, I can afford to use encryption because I can actually convince peop

Yeah, well, OS X has been using this system to encrypt loginwindow, Finder.app, Dock.app, and iTunes.app, so this doesn't seem like much to write home about.

To be honest, I've found that the ones most apathetic are the ones complaining about apathy. If you don't like it, DO SOMETHING. Campaign for increased privacy. Give solid, concrete examples of how the USG needs definite barriers

I'm a bit lost for words on this case. On one hand, I can't help but feel it would have been good for Apple to get a taste of their own medicine. At the same time, I think this excessive patent protection is harming the industry..

Point taken, and I agree. I like to watch baseball sometimes, but I took issue with people who implied that children should be brought up with sports as a cornerstone of their lives whether they like it or not.

Fun to me is reading novels, or solving puzzles, or doing unit tests, or going to Project Euler and trying to solve as many conundrums as possible with 8 cups of strong coffee and 5 hours in the dark of night. Fun to me is listening to jazz

No, actually it isn't. A chroot environment to run Sublime and a few other GNOME applications is not the opposite of "just works." You're going to have to do a hell of a lot more configuration in OS X than in Chrome OS i

Not quite. Around 70% of the time, I'm in pure Chrome OS. The 30% I start a GNOME 3 session is to edit in Sublime and do some light image editing, and since GNOME 3 is pretty much full-GUI now without many config files, it's one s

AFAIK this has been happening since way before 9/11, now it's just picked up more pace. If you remember (I don't because I wasn't alive then) during Truman's presidency and up until around the 1990s, the U.S. consis
