I've seen several opportunities/companies that could do the half a gigaton and meet the other criterion really fast, but raising money is a grind: * Advanotech.com - makes fully functionalized silicon nanoparticles at a fraction o

I don't think so. Companies often die because they don't send enough emails, not the other way around. Fallibility is your own worst enemy in a startup, and email outbound is one way to kill it faster. That being said, there shoul

He made a monstrously inaccurate statement about the area of a solar panel and the power output of an area equivalent with the surface area of a nuclear power plant. I thought he was well versed in how utilities and energy work, but this ma

high paying code writing or going into physics/engineering. Engineering is much different than software architecture. One requires hard sciences competency, whereas one you can go into for years with none, and be successful.

There's a considerable amount of embodied energy and embodied pollution in Solar Panel and Wind Turbine construction. I think this is lost on most people in Silicon Valley.

A lot of news coming out of India is hype. I promise you that at night we burn 50% ash - lignite coal to compensate for downticks in solar and upticks in consumption. For the next few years we'll be opening a new coal plant each month.
