Man this is America. If people had any interest in walking, our national health picture would look very different. Even huge swathes of people voting for public transit in the US are doing so because they want everyone ELSE off the highway.

I have bad news for you about how ads work. Also, you didn’t really answer my question, you just dodged it. I’m not asking what you think makes for a successful ad campaign, I’m asking why you’re letting perfect be the enemy of good

Water lillies not only are not dangerous, they’re partially edible and have also been used in medicines. Do you mean peace lilly or calla lilly? Neither is deadly, but they can make you ill. Water hemlock is deadly and has white flowers?

I’m so glad most people don’t truly consider software devs to be real engineers, because this is a perfect example of why that word deserves so much more respect than this field gives it.

But the law doesn’t allow for that, obviously. It’s a nonsensical scenario. Maybe you could argue that a somewhat functional car might be taken on occasion, but it’s… still abandoned… Like, nobody is parking a useful vehicle on the side of

I’m not sure this makes a huge difference if the goal is to get obvious pieces of junk off the highway? Does a $1600 car really matter that much more than even a $1500 car?

I agree fully with him. I don’t care what part of your job gets harder, or what software breaks if you can’t make it work without unnecessarily invading my privacy. You could tell me it’s going to shut down the internet for 6 months and I s

I should’ve been more clear that this is basically what I meant! The availability of the LLM is the real killer because yeah - most translation jobs are needed for like 15 minutes in a relatively low-stakes environment. Perfect for LLMs. Th

Pope Francis was interesting in part because he asked to be buried in a single casket. Typically, popes are buried in 3 caskets, one of which is lead. I’d wager there will be some EXCEPTIONALLY well-preserved human fossils.
