Well heavy motors actually do stop easily, but issue is just that detecting when to stop becomes harder. It is something that can be solved by measuring more precisely or adding extra sensors, but somewhere costs were cut and some part of t

There are million ways to hide exploits even in "safe" languages. If you have a bad actor that can spend couple years prepping how to hide an exploit, then it doesn't really matter which programming language is used. Build sy

Perspective really changes when simple integer addition can take more time than allocation in a compiled language.

Eh... Haven't seen anyone using 3kk to abbreviate 3M. 3M is common and B for billion. Those are also used in many games to shorten currencies.

But it often isn't in the stack. This is a vector type so it is often modified and used as part of math operations. Each vector field is probably in some register because it was used to calculate something and then has to be stored bac

No. Actually that is the whole problem here. That is pretty much exactly what the compiler does thanks to ABI. ABI says that the value must be passed by pointer so it has to store it somewhere to get the pointer, which is exactly the same t

In AMD64 ABI, anything larger (that doesn't fit in register) will be returned by basically output pointer argument. Caller reserves space for the return value and gives pointer to the function which then fills it with the return value.

Based on the graph the fast function runtime is really short. You might be just seeing effects of efficiency vs performance cores. Lower thread count makes most of the stuff run on performance cores and task end times align more nicely. Wit

The power loss by the resistance scales in the square of the current and linearly to the resistance. So doubling voltage reduces resistance power loss to one quarter so you could lower wire size and increase its resistance to double and sti

That isn't enough. You'd need to wrap getenv calls as well and that can't be done as there are hidden getenv calls in stdlib implementation. There isn't a trivial fix.

Large part of why standard was changed so that GCC's copy-on-write strings became non-standard compliant was because CoW made std::string_view and such extremely hazardous. CoW has its benefits but also huge downsides, and small-string

The bitmasks in the code are adjusted so that it works with that specific pattern of numbers to other letters. Masks only pick bits from digits when the are in those specific positions. So this solution only works when the digit character p
