The line right after this is much worse: > Coding performed by AI is at a world-class level, something that wasn’t so just a year ago. Wow, finance people certainly don't understand programming.

Cool language! What language and library is this?

The linked study is utterly unconvincing... textual arguments (am I reading philosophy?) with formula jumping up out of nowhere, figures showing not measurable data but made-up simple linear/inverse proportional curve... is this paper

Ah, the eternal problem of asynch unwind! (without-interrupts (acquire-resource) (unwind-protect (with-local-interrupts (do-jobs-might-block-or-whatever)) (release-resource))) ... and to cancel: (

There's no objection, but I think this solves a different problem than above described, and is possibly a more complicate matter in itself than it may look like. First, are you describing a way to typecheck macro so that it doesn'

It's easy to just stick them together, but to me (who writes too much Lisp for my own health) this is unsatisfactory. The dream: just like macro can be seen as a (staged) extension mechanism for Lisp evaluator, there should be an exten

And there don't seem to be much non-trivial code written under this project, it's just loosely putting together some existing work and adding some READMEs with the same format. A bit disorienting for someone looking for statistica

The only option that you described is called "hyperstatic global environment". And it is called that for a reason, it is not very dynamic :) and probably too static to the taste of many Lisp and all Smalltalk fans.

The arguments only apply to hand written programs and a particular flavor of AI (symbolicist AI) which has long fallen out of favor. They don't apply to most AI agent today. They definitely do not apply to reinforcement learning, and p

Sure! Sorry for saying something probably totally wrong -- I don't know much about packaging at all. I opened an issue here https://github.com/neomacs-project/neomacs/issues/80

Electron won't start. Or it could start with --no-sandbox flag but that is even more insecure.

Probably, it's just someone made a pretty good Electron binding for Common Lisp ( https://github.com/cermaic/ceramic ), so I used it instead of inventing my own wheel.

Sure! Screencast sounds like a good idea. Are you able to get Neomacs running? If so, the prebuilt one will start up with a intro buffer which is a good place to start (locally built one will need `M-x manual` to build the manual). There&

I think so unless the Electron app is rich enough to get them whitelisted. Or running with sandbox disabled, but that is even more insecure and I don't feel like to make it default.

It's known issue for any application that uses Electron but don't have enough money to get Ubuntu to whitelist it (I believe?) I heard that this can be worked around if someone submit a package to the distro. I have no experience

They're not the same level things. Neomacs has an Emacs-y browser inside it, for example. It is also possible to embed arbitrary content in buffer (multiple modes, real tables, canvas, etc) while Emacs is restricted to plain text plus

Thanks for your input! I don't org-mode myself but I know it's a killer feature for many. In fact, I think if someone commit to it, they can likely build an even more powerful version of org-mode with a lot less and cleaner code,

Yes I use it daily. I never squared the circle of modal editing and use mostly vanilla Emacs bindings (and paredit) :) Would love to hear feedback from evil-mode user. Just in case I port it to vim in the future.

Thanks for the pointer to lish! I didn't know it had all that, I know it exists but was intimated by its non-standard packaging... I decided to not go too far on the structured/object shell route for Unix in Lisp, instead trying t
