I would like a study that presents all this graphs (separately) to people and have them choose the inflection point. They would not all be on 1971. Some are very clearly a different year or just a gradual change. The adding of arrows bias

I thought Japan had a reputation for pointless bureaucracy (faxing useless paperwork around to get something approved, etc).

Looks nice. I'm not sure if this is the place for it, but what I am always searching for is a very concise table of the different GPUs available with approximate compute power and costs. Lists such as wikipedia [1] are way to complicat

I big question is whether "official" accounts will move to Bluesky - governments, businesses, organizations, etc. I see some, but not too many. Of course, maybe that's fine, some people prefer it that way. But, for me, it see

How does that help "build out a locked in ecosystem"? Again, comparing to Apple: they have a very locked-in ecosystem.

This is maybe a dumb question, but why is it so hard to buy Nvidia GPUs? I can understand lack of supply, but why can't I go on nvidia.com and buy something the same way I go on apple.com and buy hardware? I'm looking for GPUs and

No. In the movie, President Camacho recognized the smart guy was smart and wanted him to help because he was smart. We don't have leaders with that kind of wisdom and good intentions.

"Working at DOGE" for 4 weeks reminds be of "Teach for America"... maybe it's fairly smart people with decent intentions [1] but not what's needed - not people taking a break from getting rich to do some charit

What does it even mean to "work for DOGE" at this point? Is it a company? I don't think it's a part of government (yet).

This is interesting. I'm curious about how much (and what) these LLMs memorize verbatim. Does anyone know any more thorough papers on this topic? For example, this could be tested on every verse in bible and lots of other text that is

I wonder if this dataset has been added to OpenStreetMap (or what the legal restrictions could be). If I look at Zurich on https://osmbuildings.org/ it seems like it has all the buildings in 3d.

In the long tail of questions people ask, I would think asking about Shakespeare is relatively common (explain a play, explain a character, identify a quote, ...).

I've only dabbled a bit in 3D graphics (OpenGL, THREE.js, swift SceneKit). When these 2D GUIs say "GPU-accelerated", does that mean they are doing the same thing you would do for 3D - build triangular meshes, materials, etc -
