The scanning wasn’t to be done by the OS, but by the Photos app uploader, and only if you had iCloud Photo Library turned on. Lots of apps already do telemetry and photo scanning that goes beyond this, as well as nearly every major cloud pr

Second this, Becoming Steve Jobs is the superior book. It helped a lot that the authors had interacted with Jobs over decades and also had an understanding of business and technology that Isaacson was missing. There’s also an old document

It’s amazing that the same two links always get repeated as if they diminish an impressive career as a journalist and editor. Greenwald has done important work, but his slander against Weiss is not one of them. David French was involved at

My 2016 MacBook Pro came with an 87W charger and I always run it off a monitor that supplies 60W over thunderbolt and it never drains. I used to mostly run it off a 45W charger and would only see it slowly drain if I was really pushing it w

It’s the work rules that make a lot of American unions distasteful to workers. A lot of people just don’t want to work in a place where people routinely say stuff like, “that’s not my job, union rules.” The Wizard of Speed and Time is a gre
