Rewriting linux kernel in common lisp would be like rebuilding the water & electricity grid in NY,NY. It can be done, but with a lot of time and effort, but before it gets off the ground people who know anything about the old infrastruc

Apple would be dropping the ball if they went to ARM, especially on all the people using MS products. Not to mention they would essentially destroy the businesses of Vmware Fusion & Parallels for their virtualization environments which

there was an API which i found a while back, but it didn't work at all, all the unit tests it had failed, so my guess was that google changed their api once again and the project was worthless. The solution i came up with was the only relia

I did something like this, but using xpath queries, only problem is when they decide to change these, you will have "fun" times retesting all the dom locations to fix your scraper when the time does come when it breaks.

I'm disappointed because yesterday I'm browsing about looking for Louis CK videos and now I can't see all the other great comedians as well. I think the interface no longer promotes exploring of new content.

@josteink, you don't really understand what good documentation is do you. A large amount of PHP documentation provides context in which you may effectively implement a piece of code by providing "sufficient" examples. A grenade I can almost

I think that @billjings hit it on the money. What this means is that if apple is capable or even able to catch up to a company like google when doing a location search, they may have a true search engine on their hands. Google makes quick /

I think probably the biggest hurdle for a lot of devs is really a fix on naming conventions and argument order. I think this could be accomplished with a large aliased namespace. maybe something like use \stdlib as _; _\array_walk(<arra

At a lot of companies, the project manager is the first line of defense against a late project, it's their job to harass their people to move quicker, otherwise they are often the first to be on the chopping block if things don't go smoothl

I don't see a problem in using PHP. Consider how you break down your infrastructure. Don't build monolithic code-bases which you cannot maintain. Make small compact services (SOA) which you know you can build out quickly. RoR is for people

The concept is cool, but I think that once all the tokenization is done on the full construct of the language, it probably won't be substantially that much faster than hiphop C++ converter. This is only a 1.0 with benchmarks based on limite

Okay, so coming from a user of CI 2.0 mind you and using integrated smarty templates with it, I would have to say after using even a micro-framework say silex, I could build a much better enterprise application with modern php5.3/5 features

My best calculus professor I had, the course was 3 hours with two 15 minute breaks in between, twice a week, tues/thurs. The first half was spent going over homework assigned the previous class. He would answer every question no matter how
