It sounds like you have not done much research on this yet, but I'm sure DIY plans exist online given the popularity of cold plunges with athletes / bro science people (I don't know that there's actually much peer review

The article seems really wrong on this. E.g. there’s a big trend of congratulating companies for allowing users to opt out of Mother’s Day / Father’s Day ads, which requires companies to keep list of sensitive data about user’s relatio

I think this is a different phenomenon than the parent comment -- some of these 3rd party sites seem to update more slowly than the airline's pricing. I.e. it's rare that a 3rd party actually holds airline tickets these days.

I found it interesting that they talk about body fat % when that’s notoriously difficult to measure. AFAIK only an MRI is accurate. Then trying to Google what the actual test is, there’s a lot of advice about how to manipulate water weight

To the extent that publications like The Atlantic have declined, I think it's because clickbait works, or at least it seems to if you're dependent on the online ads business model, so legacy publications have chosen to become more

The guys at https://slimemoldtimemold.com were interested in a PFAS theory of obesity, but they seem to have moved onto lithium as a greater area of focus. My counterfactual: wouldn't you expect ski shop workers to become s

The public education system in the US is ~6 hours per day, ~180 days per year. Of course anybody with the means is supplementing that.

I remember that Ben Horowitz includes a lot of rap lyrics in The Hard Thing About Hard Things. Don’t a lot of tech bros love music that glorifies criminal behavior?

I really wish the article would name the spokesperson who claimed "We’ve upheld our jobs commitment," when it clearly goes against Legere's testimony.

I didn't claim there was IP infringement. IG & lots of other companies stole the stories format from Snap. Makes it easier for users who recognize the ui, but it's still got to be galling.

The upside to writers would be traffic to their articles. Once you get to the article, you can have the usual subscribe overlay. I think it does add some confusion to the product if notes become more popular than articles / comment sec

Looking at Notes, I get why Elon is so mad about it. They totally ripped off the Twitter UI. I follow Ed Zitron's Substack, and he is also a prolific Tweeter. He seems to be using Notes the same way he uses Twitter, for shitposting. I&

That seems like an unfair characterization of the front desk staff's job. In the pre-iPad days I remember being asked to do those sorts of questionnaires, but on paper on a clipboard.

Obviously this is in line with the history of the brand of a fancy, organic- and artisanal- focused grocery. (Does it have better profit margins than other groceries?) My point was that Amazon could support another retail brand beyond WF.
