This is really neat, but I feel like it wasn't quite designed with the red-green color blind demographic in mind ;)

As someone who lives somewhere with photo radar, I assume photo radar. Nobody likes photo radar.

Maybe I'm just getting old and crotchety, but "influencer" seems like such a ridiculous thing to do for work. I guess the laws of Capitalism dictate that it must be a job, or people wouldn't pay for it. But I think it sa

I actually can't stand the "we'll save your preferences and deactivate everything for you!" pattern as well. No, I want my account deleted, gone. Forget you ever saw me, please.

I've never thought about this before, and it is strange. From the Wiki article on demonyms though, "Often, demonyms are the same as the adjectival form of the place, e.g. Egyptian, Japanese, or Greek." I guess you'd also

I personally don't understand why, as a whistleblower, she should also be proposing policies. "Hey there's something wrong" and "Here's how you fix it" seem like they should be very distinct in these cases

Putting on my pedantic home brewer cap: The 16% number seems a bit low. I believe there are champagne yeasts that will ferment up to 18%, and specialized "turbo" yeasts designed for fermenting high-abv washes for distilling will g

I think it's a somewhat moot comparison, as Bitcoin does just about none of what traditional finance actually does, particularly on the "human" side of things.

This gave me a laugh. Very well written. And, good on your spouse for doing what she does. I was fortunate to have an excellent kindergarten teacher, and still think of her from time to time.

Looks like this goes well beyond TikTok (as it should). An interesting bit of... Mild civil disobedience(?) though. I can't imagine the false reports being too terribly difficult to purge if the submitters aren't doing anything cl

Unrelated to the article, but WSL is a true gem :) I spend many an evening writing Rust on my Ubuntu WSL setup, and no reboots necessary in the morning (Windows-intensive job). Thank you for your work on it.

I think this is an unfair characterization of the ETH network, given that it has yet to transition safely to PoS. Maybe "will be" is a better qualifier.

The visualizations in this article are really well done. I've read a bit about hierarchical pathfinding before, but this is the first time I feel like I actually "get" it.

Anecdotally, I've had about the opposite experience. Never have been able to get a graphics card to perform well under any version of desktop Linux I've used, the sleep feature generally hasn't worked, fan control is all over

I actually... don't mind it. $15 is a bit much for me to pop on something I'm likely to spend some time giggling at (or maybe pranking some colleagues with... hmmm), but it really does look like the best of both worlds between com

If there's a valid need for the distinction, and it's straightforward (<>s search system libs first vs quotes search CWD first IIRC), what would be less ugly? Keeping in mind the vast number of C++ files out there that have

Yeah... maybe "light" wasn't quite the right term to use here ;) I would hope that it could be somehow secured to the pavement underneath, but since this is Twitter-level content, there's not much for detail.

I'm not a vegan, but if you think of veganism as more of a "harm reduction" approach to eating, it doesn't matter whether you define plants to be conscious or not. As in, it causes relatively more harm to a large number
