The NFL is ahead of the curve here. Their streaming option for me as a non-US person is amazing. It's not cheap (250 Euro iirc) but it's also a ton better than normal games. Since I have no spoilers here as NFL results aren't

HFA in the WS might not be an advantage though. I'd argue it has actually been an advantage for the NL team if the AL team gets HFA in recent history because it helped their hitting. The last WS would be a good example.

Given the buying price is reported as 40 million, I think you could have run a very nice early adopter focused business in that range. No need to cross the chasm...focus on your real customers first. Battery life is a great selling point fo

I'd really like it if VC/incubators etc. would set up a donation system where they give X$ to projects that are used by their funded companies. I also wouldn't mind seeing an equivalent to the YC-nonprofit program specificall

The biggest problem is the lack of a certified laptop. Librem13 was certified for R3 but as of now there is nothing certified for R4 [0]. Their stance on Intel ME is clear and good. I hope they don't give it up or water it down with co

I'm not so sure about the implicit assumption that growth/phase change should be measured by head count. Sure you need some estimate but I do find the stage3 = 400 employees a bit strange. Especially given WhatsApp happened. I wou

Some of the reasons that he mentions for avoiding the standard library could also be mitigated by using another library like dietlibc (I played around with it back in the day, last release seems to be from 2013): https://www.fefe

Going back to Ludwik Fleck I'd argue that it makes a lot of sense for a thought collective to bridge the gap between the esoteric and exoteric circle more often. Social media seems like a natural choice in this day and age.

I also remember reports that 110 and 112 calls (German emergency numbers) were down for four hours in some county recently due to technical issues on DTs part. I never saw an explanation what the exact cause was. Fire services and police ha

I'd actually see it as validation of the technology they are working on. Hurts to lose people but Microsoft can refill research positions fairly well (anecdotally).

As a point of reference: Chinese investors bought 37 German companies in the first half of 2016 (39 in all of 2015)[0]. It's noteworthy that those investments tend to be with the idea of a long term engagement. Also interesting that so

I would like to see a game that tests the gold standard approach. Basically a novel economic simulator. The hard part would be building a fun enough game around it, I'm currently thinking some sort of sandbox game/MMORPG. Upon the
