It's interesting that the Loebner prize (passing the Turing test in written form) has a cap of 25k and 100k but Amazon has a challenge called the Alexa prize where you essentially pass a voice Turing test for 20 Minutes that awards 2.5

I disagree with this sentiment. To give an example that is a bit more emotional, I would strongly object to some stranger taking pictures of a young child playing in a public park.

Try i3 or fluxbox while you're still experimenting (or KDE for that matter if you've only gone with Gnome so far). Diversity is actually a good thing :) I've standardized on Xubuntu but there are some pretty sweet desktop man

I have moved from genuinely wanting to buy the new MBP pre-announcement due to technical reasons (battery life, screen) to only needing to buy it due to iOS development lock in. Reminds me very much of the process I went through with Window

The abstraction chosen by React makes a lot of sense to how my brain works. If one is bothered by the mixture of HTML/JS/CSS(where in the example?) there's always code generation.

Sometimes I have this dream vision of a software company were the only management tool is a huge board of git commits with clear commit messages. The small team meets at the beginning to set the goal and timeline. All code gets reviewed by

Yes it's usually a very interesting mixture of human factors and technical problems. Often in combination, e.g. some technical device not taking human factors into account and leading to usability issues. Quite often a disconnect betwe

Eagerly awaiting a response from the GH team. Assuming all the DMCA stuff was handled correctly they need to restore ASAP. How they handle this is (or should imo) be a very good yardstick for deciding if you want to host your FLOSS project

I got a really strange vibe from this article. Sounded like the author is in the business of selling VPs/CxO. At least it felt a bit odd that this was explicitly mentioned a couple of times (the bit about not taking a VP intor was real

I was wondering how they crowdfunded this and expected some sort of ticket prepurchase kickstarter. It seems that you can actually loan them money instead (over five years): 1500 Euro: 3,45% (6,9% if you take tickets not cash) 2500 Euro: 3,
