Regardless of how much cherry-picking there was, some of these pictures are just beautiful.

While the whole narrative of your comment totally makes sense, I don't really see the difference between the two approaches, not on a conceptual level. You still needed to train this so called "prior" at some point (so, I

Understanding syntax would be really amazing for merges (not sure if it's even possible), but for diffs I don't immediately see why I should use that over simpler syntax-unaware tools. Highlighting the actual change in a string is

All these features have been discussed countless times in "new release" threads and such, but I don't think I ever asked public opinion on the "spaceship" operator, so I want to raise the question this time. I alway

Ok, that will be unpopular. "Literate programming" is a non-invention by somebody (Knuth), who is very much revered by many programmers (many of whom never even actually read him), but who was — let's admit it — just terrible

If we ignore the UI level stuff, like doing something by default when you switch to another branch, etc — is it in any way "smarter" than git? For example, are there situations, when I couldn't reorder my commits when doing g

Your phrasing makes me think if I'm just too brainwashed by git as well, but, yeah, I wouldn't want anything to be added by default at all. While working I do all kinds of stuff I'm not going to commit, like debug statements
