Yeah that's a problem. I thought you could get proper scoping by writing "var" in front of everything?

I upvoted you for talking about historical accident, but regretted it when you started in on Javascript and Objective-C. Yes they have some questionable decisions but they are by no means objectively awful.

It has been my experience that this doesn't persist for whatever reason. I did it before and now it's hidden again.

Yes. Smalltalk was a work of genius. It seems like every good idea in modern languages I learn about turns out to have been poached from either Smalltalk or Lisp.

I think better software would help but I also don't think Discourse is that software. I'm sure they understand spam but they don't seem to understand how humans communicate.

The paranoiac in me wants to suggest that they would be recording everything and sending it home. But there are probably legal issues with that, so instead I will suggest that you are going to be interacting with a device on your face that

But it's also a valid point; it's important to know if it scales well for larger datasets. I think the premise is good, we need better tools for creating multithreaded, concurrent applications. Looking forward to your future posts.

It's because, e.g., "The Warrantless Wiretapping Act" doesn't sound as nice as "The PATRIOT Act" and they want to pass it.

As long as the judge is aware when the suing party is a shell company vs. an actual small business and requires some sort of monetary escrow only for the former. I don't know if "danger" is the word you are looking for :) I'd love to see a

Your assertion that it isn't a slippery slope is subjective, as is my assertion that it is. Both viewpoints are valid. However, I reject your solution. It's my machine, I want it to be a pleasant experience to develop on, I don't want to me

OS X already hides the ~/Library folder, it's not far-fetched to think they might hide everything but the Photos, Documents, etc. folders. I wouldn't say iOS is a terrible product, just that it's terrible for someone that knows how to use a

I think having customers early is key to creating a sustainable project. A good co-founder is also priceless. It sounds to me like you're on the right track, I wish you luck in whatever you do next.

I am personally fairly pleased his boat was taken, he's the one that inflicted TechCrunch on the public. But logically, I'm displeased that the government is doing things in this way.

There was no claim that a language that is easy to parse for a computer is always easy to parse for a human. And you don't present any data that easier to parse for the human makes it better other than that you like it. I like Ruby too, it'

There's nothing preventing the implementation of sharing via a website (or posting to a URL) instead of an app. There's nothing preventing standard interactions with your phone to be delivered by checking an API instead of requiring an app.
