As much as I think he is an awful person profiting off of copyright infringement, I have to admire him for this.

I would donate more than that to any entity that wants to disrupt this overbearing copyright industry, and that goes especially for sovereign nations. I'm hoping Antigua goes all out and becomes a data haven that refuses to extradite for IP

But it's not exploitative to charge monthly fees that high, or require one to pay extra for tethering, or force one to pay extra to blacklist phone numbers from calling one, etc.? If they cannot afford to subsidize phones like that because

Pirating hasn't been tested in the courts, really, it's the distributing that will get you a lawsuit. This is because what would that law look like? If someone sent you an email with a newspaper article inside you'd be violating it.

It's disappointing that someone like you who is trying to share information and learn together would be attacked like that. People are awful. I have a new policy of not responding to any comment that includes any form of ad hominem argument

I think I misinterpreted your argument as being about the syntax instead of the type system. I would actually prefer the option of a stricter type system in C.

If anyone told me ,"write better code," in response to a question like, "does it have code folding?" I would be pretty enraged. I don't even use code folding.

Nobody would fund a "method and apparatus for linking users of free app to the paid app" lawsuit if they had anything significant to lose over it.

That's strawman C. We could just as easily write hideous C++, Ruby, Python, etc. code and complain about that. Edit: By this I mean; if you want to prefer the C++ libraries, that's fine, but please don't claim C is inherently ugly.

Isn't it fair to hate it just due to the clunky interface? Many times I find it difficult to select a subview under another subview. Or, when adding a subview, it is too eager to be the subview of a subview. Those are the tip of my list of

And surely if the individual genius had a meritorious patent, someone would be willing to fund the lawsuit.

I would urge indie developers to also be learning a separate language and doing web apps so they have a way to pivot if the iOS app is unprofitable. Web apps seem like less of a lottery.

Sometimes I think the real problem is that we've lost the viewpoint of "it's better 1000 guilty go free than 1 innocent be imprisoned". At the very least it shouldn't be so easy to, for example, drum up 35 years worth of charges on excessiv

One of the things Knuth is famous for is writing a lengthy program for word counts that was equivalent to no more than 6 lines of shell script. I highly doubt that he's wrong regarding his own programs, but it's most certainly wrong for the

You wrote that because research costs money, nobody will fund it without patents, completely disregarding the argument that there are other ways to fund research.
