I feel this was the winter of sci-fi. I enjoyed Dune and Androids but the rest are mostly meh. A lot of DNF books for me (including Slaughterhouse-Five, which I know has its fans but I really disliked)

I've identical machines running latest Ubuntu and Debian. The difference in speed & size is very noticeable, for example when you do update or look at memory usage. Ubuntu has a bunch of apps and services running in background that

Ubuntu is not that lean either. Something like Debian may fair better here. There are also distros like Clear Linux that are extremely lean and efficient. Unfortunately that particular one is owned by Intel :( PS. So sad to see another HN

Never bothered me and I don't think this is a marketing thing. But on Android you can always use another keyboard, or go to gboard settings, text correction and turn off auto-capitalization.
