In my experience, you need to care about latency. That affects user experience. It's quite hard to pay for better latency.

You mean can't as in "directly affects the outcome of the present situation"? Like when I'm at a bureaucrat's office and he's going to hand me the document I need? Or trying to close a deal? Then I just shut up

That looks great! I'm trying to do a similar thing but I'd like to be compatible with the existing Ansible tasks. Still trying to figure out the API, especially for cases like calling a playbook from playbook with some parameters.

Not OP but I have that experience. Europeans have been much more open. My personal theory is that it's connected to job security and how big personal problem it is to lose your job in a layoff. If you get laid off in Europe, your healt

I do. What I like the most is the ability to include the diagram source into PNG metadata. The viewers don't need any renderer, yet it can be readily edited.

If it's your application on your server, you can be pretty confident. Only later, it may surprise someone why doesn't this application react to system-wide config. Or it may never happen.

Can't the charger emulate a mouse/keyboard? It can also add a mass storage and confirm its usage with mouse. It's a bus after all. Edit: just checked - it's indeed possible with Android 14. Connecting a mouse doesn'

It's not true that tips are known up front. E.g. when you're travelling, you don't know. And taxes are (can be) also known up front. But that's the point - avoid the guesswork and let me know what you expect me to pay.

Yes, I understand. But if you want to come to the same restaurant again and you don't tip, it may be a problem. Imagine Amazon not wanting to do business with you because you didn't add extra X% to your previous purchase.

Yes, I understand that (and I like XML as a format and XSLT 2.0 as a language). However, from the popularity of JSON, it seems that for most cases it's the easier choice. Take any random REST API for example. If it returns JSON, you ca

The abstract seems pretty clear to me. In essence low cholesterol is associated with even greater risk than high cholesterol. The optimum is somewhere around 200 mg/dL. The study was performed over a large group of Koreans over more th

Only if everyone participates. You'll generally have a third group of "unknown behavior customers". Then it makes a difference what the default price is.

But why Google? This is what big pharma are doing. Also you can outsource the data collection part. See for example UK Biobank. Their data are available to multiple companies after some period so it makes it more cost efficient.

Yes. For example when word2vec came out, immediately there were people trying similar approaches to protein sequences. Transformers work better.

Yes, it's a nice area. The houses are very large so there usually are 2 - 5 apartments and they share the garden. That's a very interesting compromise for living with a garden close to the city center.

Check street view to get an idea how such a street looks like. Not my place but fairly similar feeling. https://maps.app.goo.gl/AUurWkVyhLMxzmHWA My point is that the needs may be very different according to context.

In our city, that's the responsibility of the city council and their traffic signs. Actually, there is only an equivalent of HOA for apartment blocks. House owners are usually only bound by law and personal relationships with neighbors

One situation might be that you roughly know how much memory your process should be consuming and kill it if it's overconsuming. Something akin to but more dynamic than memory limits.

I agree. This might be worth optimizing. In case of drugs, you can easily spend the first ten years in research and testing, while paying the patent fees. Software or manufacturing patents, on the other hand, might get different time frame.

In the case of drugs, it works. The day a patent expires, you have generics that instantly lower the market price. Replicating a drug from a patent is not free but you know that the compound works and can be synthesized. It's much chea
