"their economic model doesn't work if they have to pay their workers fairly." Bingo. Enjoyed reading your take on this. You should consider publishing an essay on this.

I don't think existing competition law or theory applies to this new phenomenon. The delivery companies are essentially selling at a loss to obtain an overwhelming network effect to become a long term monopoly.

It is possible to do this profitably. However the app companies are more interested in spending marketing dollars on discounts with the end goal of becoming a monopoly over the market. The end goal is to restrict customer and restaurant cho

Defence equipment isn’t useless. In the event of war it becomes essential. Spending has to continue on these programmes in peacetime to retain capability.

Apple's iPhone is now systemically important to commerce, business and consumers unlike Playstation and Tesla. Given their size and scale they should be subject to higher standards.

What you've described is very common among the startups I work with. The founders/executives would have received payouts as the board or acquirer agreed a package to keep them onboard and smooth over the acquisition. Very common.

I actually don't even get this. Surely this problem is solved with Liquid Stock or a voluntary buyout (if allowed) at the next funding round? Most institutional investors don't want anyone cashing out until a liquidity event like

Totally agree. I grew up in a detached house about 1 mile from the town centre. We had fast internet, good schools and good neighbours. After moving to London I lived in apartments for a few years but decided to move back to suburbia as it&

I've used excel and python in lots of business contexts. For most tasks involving domain experts, excel usually wins hands down. An excel spreadsheet is usually easily auditable. The visual presentation and layout lends itself to revie

In reality more modern communication techniques will be in use now. The legislation is in effect setting a minimum standard for implementation.

This is a repost and the key takeaway is that changing this legislation from the prior version from 2008 would be counter-productive to moving forward and require further EU law changes. When the EU updates their own 2008 legislation then I

Not sure how much experience you have working with business or government but what you'll find is that large corporates will have 'access' to regulators and legislators who can legislate or enforce on their behalf. The senior

Actually this thinking is incorrect, at least for company valuations. You're discussing shares being exchanged for arbitrary random values. In a regulated market prices will always be at the marginal level where buyers and sellers exch

European Courts are the ultimate court of appeal in the EU. In this instance I'd say the European Court of Human Rights would absolutely find shutting down these servers as a violation of the European Convention on Human Rights.
