Yes probably to the OEMs, like I said, but I suspect in the future a current Windows consumer will be able to upgrade pretty much any version of Windows to the latest for free. People see the OS as free these days. They get updates to their

I wonder how Microsoft will respond to this? Come July 2016 will Microsoft really stop the free upgrade from 7/8 to 10 or will they just make Windows free to consumers? Obviously there will still be a (small) charge to OEMs and for bus

Because Microsoft's efforts were on the stupid new modern UI and Windows 8 under Sinofsky. Seriously that guy did so much damage to Microsoft. There is no reason Microsoft should have been in 3rd place in the mobile market (4th really

I think it is pretty clear that Android is Microsoft's plan B in the mobile market. I know they have kind of said that already although not in so many words. I wouldn't be shocked to see a Microsoft Android phone at some point if

Is there such a thing as a drive controller rootkit that can intercept/process data? Something that can understand common FS such as NTFS and they "lie" about what is really there? Perhaps inject additional executable data in

I love the web but I hate to work in the web. It is a shitty experience. Getting my data in and out can be a pain in the ass and slow. There is very little proper integration between services for obvious reasons. On the desktop I can pump d

So what makes this any different to all the other Android based mini computers? All I can see is a mind-map like interface and a montly subscription cost to use "any" application in their store/eco-system.
